Art Show Time!

The final 15 minutes of our 3-session mixed-media project is one of the most meaningful parts of the experience.

This is when students proudly showcase their artwork. They describe their creative process, use art vocabulary to describe the materials they chose, and celebrate everything they’ve learned.

To ensure that students feel confident we practice verbalizing their experience and using specific art vocabulary throughout the series.

A parent explained, “ I have a really shy kid, and I think the art show was a great way to give her the chance to build her confidence and explain her artistic process.”

This is where art becomes more than art!

Before parents arrive, students participate in a peer art show where they view each other’s work and leave encouraging notes. We guide them in giving thoughtful, specific feedback—helping them recognize artistic choices and celebrate each other’s creativity.

Dedicating at least 15 minutes for an art show gives parents the chance to see their child take ownership of their experience and artistic choices. As a parent, watching our children blossom as artists is one of the best gifts of art class!

If you are a studio owner, we encourage you to host your first art show.

If you are a student, we are excited for you to participate in our next art show!
