Our Adopt a Squishmallow art class has quickly become one of our most popular experiences. This one-of-a-kind class combines something kids already adore with what we love most: creativity, imagination, and hands-on art.
From the excitement of opening a mystery Squishmallow box to painting its portrait to designing a custom home, this class is full of creativity, surprises, and smiles!
The Excitement Begins: Opening our Squishmallow Boxes!
One of our favorite moments is watching the excitement as students open their boxes and discover their new plush friends. The smiles, surprises, and reactions are priceless!
And because we know kids sometimes have their hearts set on a particular Squishmallow, we even have a trade bin so everyone has an opportunity to find a friend they love.
Time to Draw and Paint Their Squishmallow!
Next, we guide students through drawing and painting their Squishmallow on canvas, introducing artistic techniques along the way.
We break the drawing process into simple, manageable steps, helping young artists feel successful and confident.
Next comes the painting! Students explore different tools and techniques to bring their artwork to life. Cotton balls are perfect for creating soft, fuzzy bellies, fan brushes add interesting textures, and Q-tips help create tiny details.
The best part? Every painting is unique! Students are encouraged to add their own creative touches.
We Can’t Take the Squishmallows Home in Plain Boxes!
Next, students transform their Squishmallow boxes into personalized homes.
We provide a variety of crafting materials and let their imaginations take over! Fabric scraps become cozy rugs and curtains, cardboard pieces turn into furniture, and bottle caps make adorable food bowls.
This is one of our favorite parts of the class because there are endless possibilities. Students make their own design decisions, experiment with materials, solve problems, and bring their ideas to life.
And the results are always wonderfully creative!
More Than Just an Art Class!
Our mission is to help children build creativity and confidence through art education.
Adopt a Squishmallow is a perfect example of how we bring that mission to life.
Throughout the experience, students practice drawing and painting techniques, explore new materials, make independent creative decisions, and develop problem-solving skills.
But most importantly, they have FUN!
